REPAIRING Wicanders^® CORKCOMFORT AND WOODCOMFORT GLUE-DOWN FLOORS

WICANDERS floors are renowned for their durability. However, like all floors, they accidentally can be damaged.
The following instructions will help you to deal with these situations, in a very easy way, allowing you to keep your floor looking and performing at its best.

Replacing a damaged tile

Tools and materials required:
Knife, chisel, trowel, scraper, levelling compound and adhesive.

To remove the tile you must cut out the centre with a knife NOTE: Wicanders® Corkcomfort Glue-down WRT is varnished on site, to remove the tile you must cut the varnish on the edges and cut out the centre with a knife.
Lift the tile up, from the centre to the edges using a scraper. This method will avoid damaging the adjacent tiles.
Try to remove the tile without damaging the subfloor. If this is not possible, the subfloor should be filled with a suitable levelling compound. Take great care with this, to ensure that the subfloor is absolutely flat and smooth.
Use a contact adhesive; apply it according to the instructions on the label. Press the tile down. Remove any surplus adhesive.

NOTE: The floor was varnished after installation to achieve a uniform surface, before gluing the tile you should apply the same coats of varnish applied on the floor.
After the glue is dry you must apply one coat of varnish or Power Polish in all floor, after cleaning the floor.
